Part of Photographic postcard collection
Real-photo postcard with image of a lake and shoreline near Luck, Polk County, Wisconsin. There are several boats at the end of a dock, with a man standing in one, probably fishing. In the trees on the far shore can be seen a house and several other buildings. Date from postmark: 1915 Nov 13; mailed from Danbury & [not legible] R.P.O.; green 1¢ Washington stamp. Message: Addressed to Mr. J. H. Forbes, Burwell, Nebr. Nov. 13 - 15. Just a few lines to let you know we are here in Luck, Wisconsin, we are out looking at a fine Dairy country every day, there sure are fine roads here. Tell Dad Wright[?] that I have not saw a checker board since I left there, but I am thinking of a few moves that I will work on him when I get back there. J.W.B."
