Real-photo postcard with image of the boat landing at the Whispering Pines resort on Spirit Lake in Burnett County, Wisconsin. Tied up at the landing are multiple row boats. Behind the trees in the background can be seen the white of buildings, and in the mid-ground are several 1940s era automobiles. Date of postmark: Nov 15, 1951; mailed from Northfield Minn.; stamp has been removed. Message: Addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Fred Tottenham, 201 W. Maple, Austin, Minn. "Dear Ones, We spent the night at Northfield. We were held up about 3 hours in all. The road was not bad a[t] all but think they will be icy this morn. Thank you so much and sure nice to see you. Thanks again, Paul Louses."
