Postcard image of the Northern State Power Company dam in Somerset, Wisconsin, along with the bridge over the Apple River, and a number of buildings and houses. Text handwritten on front: Excel P.C. Co., Milw. Date from message (July 31, 1944) and postmark (Aug 2 1944); mailed from Glenwood City Wis; green 1¢ Washington stamp (Scott 804, first issued in 1938). Message: Addressed to Mrs. AL Arnquist, St. Paul, Minn. c/o Miller Hospital. "July 31, 1944. My darling mother. How are you[?] I am fine. Get well soon. Love, Mary."
