The is a smaller deciduous tree in front of the school, and mature deciduous trees behind it. Date from postmark: Jul 30, 1908; mailed from Frederic; green 1¢ Benjamin Franklin stamp (part of the "Gingerbread set", issued 1902-3). Message: Addressed to Mrs. Mary Stenberg, Wood Lake, R.F.D. 1 Box 62, Wisconsin "Frederic July 27, 1908. [Original in Swedish; English translation:]

Real-photo postcard with image of the two-story brick school house in Bay City, Pierce County, Wisconsin, in 1908; they school had been built in 1907. The building has a belfry, with bell, and a dormer window on one side. Postmarked May 14 [190]8; mailed from Bay City Wisconsin; green 1¢ Washington stamp. Message: Addressed to Clyde Collett, Rock Elm, Wisconsin [which was crossed out and replaced with Elmwood]. "Dear Clyde :-- Just received word about the contest. "Congratulations." Hope you do well at Ellsworth. May try and go up. Would love to have heard the contest, for know you all did well. Wishing you success at Ellsworth. I remain sincerely, A.R.S."

Real-photo postcard with image of construction on the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad, commonly known as the Soo Line. Horse-drawn wagons are being used to move heavy equipment. Printed on Azo paper with all four triangle pointing up (used 1904-1918). Message on verso: "haven't you seen cars go thrugh [sic] Onconta. this beatr [sic] Shorting [?] all to H. Can't you think Jennie said she never herd [sic] of the Soo Line." Message is not addressed to anyone, nor signed. Postcard was not mailed.

The Graduate School at River Falls offered its first program in the summer of 1963. Dr. Walker Wyman was the first Graduate Dean followed by Dr. Phillip S. Anderson.
