This collection contains academic program audits and reviews for undergraduate and graduate programs at UW-River Falls. Information includes, but is not limited to; course statistics and test results, alumni surveys, self-study tools, correspondence, and resumes of faculty.

Admission Statistics include Applications received for Fall Quarter; Summary of Applications; Distribution of High School Rank Percentiles for New Freshmen by Sex and Resident Status; New Transfer Students; Returning Students. Registration Statistics include Reports to the Board of Regents and U.S. Office of Education; Enrollment of Foreign, Graduate, and part-time students; Enrollment by College and High School, Summary and Student Lists; Enrollment by Classes, Student Lists.

The River Falls Agrifallians Society was organized on January 8, 1959. Agrifallian Society was the official name given to the club, which consists of Bachelors of Science non-teaching students in agriculture. The purpose of the society is to promote fellowship and to further acquaint students with professional and vocational opportunities in the field of agriculture. -Description from Society History This collection consists mainly of meeting minutes but also contains the constitution, election records, and photographs.

The Alpha Gamma Sigma Sorority existed on the UW-RF campus from 1979 to 1989, and later it then became Lambda Delta Phi. The collection consists of activity files, constitutions and bylaws, correspondence, minutes, a pledge book, rush information, photographs, and scrapbooks that detail different activities of the sorority.

The Alumni Association is composed of graduates from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The purpose of the group is to promote greater activity among the alumni at commencement, homecoming, and other special functions, to encourage sociability among former students, to create a closer understanding between the college and the community, and to further the interests of higher education in the community.

Beginning in 1934, the River Falls Alumnus was published and distributed to the graduates of the River Falls State Teachers College. The Alumni Bulletin was first compiled by the Public Relations committee in conjunction with the regular college bulletin published by the Board of Regents and ran until about 1958. In the Spring of 1952, the River Falls Foundation began publishing, the alumni newsletter, Falcon Features which continues to run today. Alumni newsletters were intended to keep alumni informed with updates to the campus physical plant, faculty, and curriculum. It also serves as a directory for alumni to keep in touch, including personal notices such as marriages, deaths, and career changes.

This series contains information on River Falls graduates who served in the two World Wars. The letters to Pep Hanson were donated by LaVern Delorit in 2000. She was the daughter of Pep Hanson and the wife of Richard Delorit, long-time agriculture faculty member and interim university president from 1967-1968. See UWRF Series 29 (Student Army Training Corps).

The River Falls State Teachers College joined the American Association of Teacher Colleges in 1924. The organization began nationwide accrediting in 1927, and continued in the role until superseded by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education in 1948. (See UWRF Series 14) The purpose of the American Association of Teachers Colleges was to make more effective the administration of teacher-training institutions and to disseminate information. Included among the materials in the series are a 1929 inspection report of the River Falls State Normal School with related courses; annual reports from the school to the Accrediting Committee, 1930-1949; bulletins and correspondence, including AATC membership lists; and miscellaneous questionnaires including a variety of interesting materials, among them student cost, library and curriculum surveys.

The first three boxes of this series deal with the practice reports of student teachers at the predecessor lab school located in North Hall. Boxes 4-6 contains correspondence, scrapbooks, reports, and other information concerning the lab school.

Early reports include an annual overview of department activities and initiatives undertaken by Campus Security. These reports are published to compy with federal law, the Clery Act, which requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies. Incident statistics include; criminal offenses, such as theft, assault, drug, and alcohol use, and other complaints brought to the police and security officers. In 2014, incidents involving fires on campus were included.

Enrollment statistics; including enrollment by terms and classes, and distribution of students by year, department and division; scholastic data; summaries of transfers, graduates and withdrawals.

Annual Reports from the Schools of Agriculture, Education and Arts and Sciences (Colleges after 1962/63) to the President. Also includes annual reports from the Library, the Student Personnel Division, and the Graduate School, (1964/65-1967/68). Reports include accomplishments, activities, and recommendations.

The Areopogus Society was formed in 1906 on the River Falls campus. The main purpose of the society was for the intellectual and moral advancement of its members.

Prior to 1954 the University of Wisconsin – River Falls only offered an art minor designed primarily for Elementary Education Majors. This was expanded in 1954 to a dual offering: Minors in both Art and Art Education. The Art major was instituted in 1960, also in a dual role. The major was offered in Art and in Art Education. The Art major required 48 credits and Art Education totaled 60 hours. The coursework differentiation was primarily related to extra coursework in teaching art to public school-age students for the Art Education majors. In 1964 a Broad Area Art Education major was introduced for majors who preferred not to seek a minor but to strengthen their major. This course required 21 credits beyond the 60 for the Art Education majors. The Liberal Arts major, as it came to be known, remained at 48 credits. In 1969 a Broad Area Liberal Arts Program began. This degree required a minimum of 69 credits in art and was designed to give the non-education-orientated student a stronger base for professional or graduate directions in art.

This series contains miscellaneous administrative files including Assembly Bill 800 establishing the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1969; draft materials relating to the 1974 centennial catalog; university mission statements (1968-1975); materials on Brotherhood Week, Campus Community Day and the annual publication luncheon for former Student Voice and Meletean employees; Salary Committee records including procedures used in awarding faculty salary increases and sample faculty rating forms (1969-70); a 1965 study on the university's image in the community conducted by journalism professor, Don Brod; and miscellaneous materials including grant proposals, travel requests and scholarship recipient lists.

This series contains the general correspondence and circular letters of the Assistant Chancellor. The main duties of the Assistant Chancellor were to direct and coordinate the summer session, international study programs and to carry out special assignments at the direction of the Chancellor. Reporting to the Assistant Chancellor were college deans and graduate school. Other departments of oversight include Media Relations, Printing and Design, and the Fast Copy Center. Special assignments from the Chancellor included working on budgets for academic programs, scholarships, general admission questions, the University Press, Foundation, Alumni, minority services, and outreach programs, faculty in committee assignments, student advising, and class contacts.

In 1942, a chapter of the Association of Wisconsin Teachers Colleges (AWTC) was formed on the River Falls campus. The name later changed to the Association of Wisconsin State College Faculties (AWSCF), reflecting the liberal arts granting privileges in the 1950’s. In the early 1960’s, with the addition of graduate offerings at the state colleges, the name changed again, this time to the Association of Wisconsin State University Faculties (AWSUF). In 1972, after the merger of the Wisconsin State Universities and the University of Wisconsin System, the name changed to The Association of University of Wisconsin Faculties (TAUWF). The organization’s purpose is to promote the general educational welfare of UW universities and to promote the economic welfare of the faculty.

The collection contains materials from the state and local chapter levels. The acronym AWSUF is used for some folder labeling purposes, even for materials that predate that designation in Box 2.

This series is not complete and some programs are missing. The programs in this collection consist mostly of home games produced by UWRF. Others are produced by the opponent’s home team or for conference championships or meets. Information includes but is not limited to, team rosters with a brief biography of players, athletic department information, opponent roster, early-season scores or results, and news articles. Other information includes local advertisements.

This series includes a weekly publication by the Office of Auxiliary Services. It included activities and events that were held throughout the week. It served as a vehicle for news of interest to students, and the university community for information on events and services. The publication was originally called The Auxiliary Scene in the fall of 1975, after a few months it was retitled The Campus Scene. In 1978 it again changed names to Bed Board & More. There are no copies of the years 1985-1987, and only one edition for 1988.

This series contains items that are from alumni and faculty of UW-River Falls. The items can include biographies, reminiscences, speeches, articles about, papers written by, etc. The Archives’ biographical index to local newspapers and other sources also has entries for this series for each individual.

Documentation includes floor plans, bids, specifications, blueprints, historical perspectives, program statements, contracts, utility service, correspondence and receipts related to construction, remodeling, alterations, and additions to campus buildings, equipment, sidewalks, furniture and other campus construction projects. A long-range campus plan from March 1970, and inventories of the River Falls State Normal School from 1914 and 1916 are also included.

This series contains several university publications and UW System publications. Bulletins include the Falcon Report, the Educational Bulletin, the Agricultural Bulletin, and the Centennial Addresses Bulletin. The university stopped issuing publications under the "Bulletin" title in the 1970's.

This series contains catalogs for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

During the academic year of 1974-1975, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls celebrated its 100th anniversary since its founding as a Normal School in 1874. This collection contains the planning materials for that celebration. Records include but are not limited to, meeting materials, budgets, surveys, correspondence, photographs, event flyers, and 3D objects.

The bulk of this collection contains records relating to the approval of the chemistry program by The American Chemical Society, Committee on professional training. Programs are reviewed every 5 years, and reports and information include, but are not limited to, program and class enrollment, curriculum materials, faculty loads, budgets, and facility information. The 1990 review materials include course materials, syllabi, and student papers.

Also included in this collection are, photographs and two videos of chemistry demonstrations from the Chemistry Family Day, building program files for Centennial Science Hall, and the guestbook from the dedication of the building. The earliest records in this collection are two ledgers of meeting materials from the Chemistry Club.

Communications from the Board of Regents of Wisconsin State Colleges (State Universities after 1964). Material pertains to the State College-State University System. Includes reports of enrollment, allocations for construction, faculty salary increases, budgets, resolutions considered by the Board of Regents and agenda of meetings, as well as information concerning graduate programs, curriculum changes, and financial aid to students.

The UWRF Coaches Clinic began in June 1950, and continued every summer until June 1979 (the clinic was discontinued because of rising costs and competition from other clinics). It was directed by several faculty members: George K. Schlagenhauf, Philip Belfiori, Fran Polsfoot, Ben Bergsrud, and Judith Wilson. The three day clinic included Headliners such as basketball coaches Bobby Knight, Adolph Rupp, football coach Bud Wilkenson and hockey coach Bob Johnson. The university invited coaches and athletes from the area to come and take part in the sessions taught by the various coaches.

The Coaches Clinic Collection includes various kinds of documentation related to the coaches clinic. This includes contracts from various headliners, lists of participants, pamphlets introducing the clinic and the main speakers, biographies of some coaches, daily schedules of the clinics events, correspondence with prospective headliners and manufacturers of athletic goods, as well as other related material.

This series contains documents showing receipts and expenditures for goods and services used or provided by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls from the College Activities Fund.

This series contains materials about the program for gifted school children in the local geographic area. In 1982, the College for Kids program was started for later grade school children to take classes on campus for two weeks in the summer. In 1992, Teen University was started to offer the same opportunity to middle school children. The series includes catalogs, correspondence, participant lists, and photographs.

The College of Agriculture was established at River Falls as a two-year program in 1912. Since then it has expanded to a five-year program with majors offered by five departments: Agricultural Education; Agricultural Economics; Agricultural Engineering; Animal and Food Science; and Plant and Earth Science. This is an artificial series based mainly around the correspondence of Prof. J.M. May, Director of the Department of Agriculture, 1913-1959. Also included is a 1964 report entitled The School of Agriculture: Its last Ten Years and materials related to Farm Progress Days and the AgriBusiness Tour. The collection also includes photographs.

This series consists of mainly reports and newsletters detailing the activities of the College of Education. Also included are materials dealing with the education conference sponsored by the college for many years.

This series includes addresses to graduating classes, ca. 1889-1893; 1958; 1966; 1972; anniversary exercises; baccalaureate programs; class day exercises; alumni- faculty- senior banquet programs; senior class play programs (1914-1940); scholarship information, 1939; 1940; 1945; other miscellaneous items concerning graduation, i.e. invitations, grammar grade exercises, etc.

The Coordinating Committee for Higher Education is a statewide organization established for the purpose of coordinating the educational activities of Wisconsin's State Colleges and Universities. In 1968, the organization's name was changed to Coordinating Council for Higher Education (CCHE). This collection is mainly concerned with the reports produced by the Council concerning higher education in Wisconsin. Correspondence and minutes are also included.

Correspondence includes information concerning new legislation affecting education, accreditation, curriculum changes, proficiency examinations for and the licensing and certifying of teachers, and workshops and seminars.

Includes information concerning cooperative programs; discussion of items to be dealt with by the President & Council; exchange of information concerning new policies being implemented on various campuses; planning information for State Colleges; State College Athletic Conference minutes; basic studies requirements; physical plant growth; course offerings and duplicate offerings.

This series consists of correspondence concerning the controversy emergent from the Voice’s publication of abortion advertisements, ca. 1970. Also included are Board of Student Publications’ guidelines for the Student Voice and its editor (Jan. 1971), and controversy concerning rights the University and Board of Regents may exercise concerning student publications.

This series comprises the correspondence from the Student Senate to Interim President, Richard J. Delorit and Chancellor George Field.
