              City Hospital Records, 1942-1953.
              US ARC UWRF MSS 2009.373 · 1942-1953

River Falls City Hospital, established in 1939, grew from a small local facility into a regional hospital now supported by the Allina Health network. In 1958, the Catholic Sisters opened St. Joseph’s Hospital on Union Street, giving the city two hospitals until 1975. At that point, the city purchased St. Joseph’s, closed the original City Hospital, and renamed the consolidated facility the Ingram Center.

This collection contains a variety of administrative, financial, legal, and personnel records pertaining to the River Falls City Hospital. These papers include documents such as invoices, reports, policies, bylaws, correspondence, and staff-related materials like job applications and resignations. The collection also includes records related to hospital governance and operations, as well as discussions and debates about allowing osteopathic physicians to practice in the hospital.
