History

William L. Munns was born on November 8, 1929, in Quincy, Illinois. Munns served in the U.S. Air Force as a Special Services Officer in Korea (Tactical Air Command.) Died in New Richmond Wisconsin on January 5, 2023. (Hudson Star Observer January 6, 2023.)

He earned his B.A. at Colorado State College, in 1951. M.S. from the University of Colorado Boulder, in 1956. Ed.D. from Colorado State in 1962. (The Student Voice, September 15, 1967). In 1967, Munns joined the Personnel Division at the Wisconsin State University – River Falls as a professor and Vice President for Student Affairs. In 1973, his title changed to Assistant Chancellor for Student Affairs, and in 1981, Dean of Students. Munns retired from UW-River Falls in 1992.
