Dalles of the St. Croix, St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin

Real-photo postcard with image of the rocky cliffs in the Dalles area of the St. Croix River, near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, and Taylors Falls, Minnesota. Date from postmark: Jul 30, 1948; mailed from Balsam Lake Wis; green 1¢ Washington stamp (Scott #804). Message: Addressed to Miss Carolyn Lee, R.R. 2, Box 6a, Spencer, Ind. "Balsam Lake, Wisconsin Friday July 29. Dear Lees, There was a cool north wind today making our lake too rough for fishing. We took a 40 to 50 mile sight seeing trip to an Interstate Park. The St. Croix River separates Wisconsin & Minnesota. We took a short boat trip on the River to see better the unusual rock formations here. Love to all - Alma T."
