The Veterans Club or "Vets Club" was a student organization at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. It was a social and service organization for the benefit of student veterans. This collection includes a ledger with member names and fees due for the quarter, orientation books for members, photographs, and other ephemera materials.

A reference collection of Veda Stone, a social worker long active in American Indian affairs, education, and family health and children's services in Wisconsin, documenting Stone's work with government agencies, organizations, and conferences concerning Native Americans. Also present are records, including individual student files, dealing with Indian education in Wisconsin and other states. Microfilmed newsletters, periodicals, and near-print documents published in the United States and Canada by or about Indian groups and organizations are also present, together with a major reference file with emphasis on Menominee and Chippewa (Ojibwe) Indians in Wisconsin and tribal groups in Minnesota. The tapes record speeches and panel discussions from a 1966 Indian leadership conference.

Mr. Van Horn worked for many years as a locomotive fireman and engineer, primarily for the Chicago and Northwestern railway before retiring in 1969. As a hobby, for over 40 years, he took railroad photographs, mainly of steam locomotives, in many parts of the U.S.
In this interview, he discusses his career in railroading, the difficulties and hazards involved in his work, and the changes that took place in the railroad industry and in the engineer's job over several decades. Mr. Van Horn also describes his interest in photographing locomotives, his involvement with teh Mid-Continent Railroad Museum at North Freedom, Wis., and tells something of the history of various rail lines in Minnesota and Wisconsin, including some now abanded lines in western Wisconsin.

The UWRF Wildflower farm offers experiential learning opportunities for land management and restoration with 72 acres of prairie, forest, and wetland. Located in the Town of Gilman, Pierce County, about 16 miles east of River Falls. Donated to the UWRF Foundation in 2024by the estate of Carol Jean Conventry.
