Autobiography by Ed Pudas of Oulu (Bayfield County), Wisconsin
Pudas, born of Finnish immigrants in Oulu, held a variety of jobs, including logging; working the Great Lakes ore, grain, and coal ships; dairy farming; operating a creamery; and carpentry. He lived the majority of his life in northern Wisconsin, with a short time in Brooklyn and New York City.

Brief unpublished history, written about 1940 by Mrs. Selma Reinkey, of a Methodist Church establishied in Elmwood, Wisconsin in 1867. Included is biographical information about each minister who served the congregation, with details on the local church circuits they travelled.

The position of Assistant Chancellor for Administration and Finance came into existence in 1991 when the two offices of Assistant Chancellor for Administration and Assistant Chancellor for Business and Finance were merged. This was brought on by the retirement of Ted Kuether (Assistant Chancellor: Business and Finance) in 1991. Virgil Nylander, former professor in the Psychology Department, was appointed to the Assistant Chancellor: Administration position in 1987 and assumed this new position in 1991. In November 1995, the title of this position changed to Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance.

Records showing the daily proceedings and judgments of the courts.

Record of credentials of clergymen which were required to be filed before being authorized to perform marriages. Entries usually include name, denomination, geographic assignment, and name of authorizing ecclesiastical superior. Copies of official certificates are sometimes attached. Volume 1 contains ordination records, 1855-1885, but also includes orders of the court and record of legal papers filed in court cases, 1851-1853, and a few entries certifying medical degrees for applicants to the Medical Examination Board, 1887-1897.

The volume for 1891-1916 contains docket entries giving the name of the defendant, the charge, sentence or judgment, and sometimes court fees; record of commitments to state schools, and informations. A few early entries from the Circuit are included. Volume 1 (1895-1958) gives the case number, defendant and his/her attorney, the charge, witnesses, sentence or judgment, and court fees. Includes record of commitments to state schools. Name index in the front of the volume. Acts as an index to the County Court Cases in C2003/032.

Cases #2-#182.

Volumes include judgment and order books for criminal cases and minutes for civil cases. Judgment and order books (volume 1, 1895-1927 and volume 2, 1879-1923) include names of plaintiff and defendant, a summary of the case, and the final decision of the judge. Minutes book (volume 3, 1971-1973) includes names of plaintiff and defendant, type of case, motions, and final judgments. Volume 3 pertains to civil cases, primarily divorce proceedings.

Record of cases before the Pierce County Probate Court. Included is the title of proceedings, nature of papers and dates filed, and attorneys or petitioners. Case file numbers are also included with cases filed from 1894 and after. The vast majority of cases included are between 1879-1906. Only about a dozen random cases filed between 1914 and 1930 are also included in the volume.

Dockets kept by Justices of the Peace of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wards, and of the city at large. Cases handled include misdemeanors and civil suits of a minor nature.
Some dockets include cases before more than one court. Some dockets note a few marriages on the back pages. A separate folder contains a few complaint warrants and other justice dockets selected as a sample.
