Genevieve Hovde, Sunset Valley Barn Dance musical variety show singer

2 photos of Genevieve Hovde in a country western costume, 1950s. Hovde began on the Sunset Valley Barn Dance musical variety show when it was still on the radio and she was 11 years old. Originally from River Falls, Wisconsin, Hovde, performed on the show well into the 50s, when it was on KSTP television. Winning an amateur contest for the Fall Festival in River Falls by singing, "God Bless America", Hovde was heard by a producer from KSTP and asked to perform on the variety show, which started in 1940 on the radio. As a regular cast member, Genevieve made the trip to St. Paul, Minnesota from River Falls, Wisconsin every Saturday.

Jackson explains the use of the M-2 30 Cal[iber] Automatic Carbine to a large crowd during the 1962 Armed Forces Day Observance held Sunday, May 20th at Osceola AFS, Wisconsin. The U.S. Air Force General Surveillance Radar station, which closed in 1975, is located approximately 5.5 miles southeast of Osceola, Wisconsin, in the Town of Farmington.
